After 2024 was considered the hottest year ever recorded in history, according to data from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), 2025 begins with a series of challenges around the world aimed at mitigating the effects of global warming and climate change. To make progress on this issue, it is essential to unite the efforts of governments, communities, experts, organizations, and businesses, bringing together all the diverse contributions to transform the future. We, at the Global Partnership on Forest and Landscape Restoration, work to raise awareness of the actions being taken by our partners to save forests and restore landscapes in various parts of the world. There are a number of benefits to these actions, which are the focus of GPFLR: biodiversity recovery, soil quality improvement, climate change mitigation, and even economic benefits.

Global landscape Forum/GLF Forests 2025: Defining the Next Decade of Action

9th Annual Partnership Meeting of AFR100

It is the 9th Annual Meeting of the Africa Forest Landscape Restoration Initiative (AFR100) Partnership. AFR100 is an international partnership between African countries, technical organizations, local interests, and financial stakeholders. The goal is to restore over 100 million hectares of land in Africa by 2030

IUCN Conservation Congress

Held every four years, the IUCN World Conservation Congress brings together people with diverse interests, such as civil society, governments, indigenous peoples, and businesses, to discuss how these groups can work together and create effective environmental governance, involving all sectors of society. The Congress also brings together individuals from all spheres to discuss the world’s urgent conservation and sustainability challenges.

One of the main global events on the environment will take place this year in Belém, Brazil, a city in the Amazon biome. At this event, people from all nationalities and professions will discuss sustainable goals such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, adapting to climate change, financing and preserving forests, as well as protecting biodiversity and promoting the use of renewable energy and low-carbon solutions.
