From Pathways to Practice: Scaling Forest and Landscape Restoration for Land Degradation Neutrality

On Monday, 24 August, the Global Partnership on Forest and Landscape Restoration (GPFLR) will co-host the official side event "From Pathways to Practice: Scaling Forest and Landscape Restoration for Land Degradation Neutrality" during UNCCD COP17, in partnership with WWF, Commonland, FAO, the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (UNEP/FAO), and the Society for Ecological Restoration (SER). The session will focus on translating high-level global commitments into place-based restoration action.

As environmental challenges grow around the world, working together at a landscape scale is essential to protect land, restore nature, and build climate resilience. This event will show how Forest and Landscape Restoration (FLR) works in practice to help countries stop land degradation and achieve climate and biodiversity goals at the same time.

Moderated by GPFLR Chair Anita Diederichsen, the 90-minute session features leadership and technical experts from China's National Forestry and Grassland Administration, the FSC, the UN Decade Advisory Board, Commonland, and WWF-US.
